The way CNN Prima News is perceived as a new news channel by the Czech audience

This thesis focuses on the viewer reception of the CNN Prima NEWS news station. The aim of the research is to gain insight into the viewing patterns and routines that are repeated when watching this station. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the main studies on the topic with reference to experts and then introduces the CNN Prima NEWS station along with the viewership data. The next part of the thesis then discusses the methodology that was used for data collection and analysis in this research. The results of the thesis are obtained by using not only the viewership data but also a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews with a selected sample of respondents who watch the station. This research was conducted with the respondents in the spring of 2022. The data collected during the research is then analysed and categorized to make the thesis as close to its objective as possible. Several findings have emerged that provide a better understanding of how Czech viewers perceive CNN Prima NEWS. The thesis also includes appendices with the results of the questionnaire survey and transcripts of semi-structured interviews.
Christmas program offer of selected Czech full-format television stations in the years 2016-2020

The Bachelor's thesis offers answers to questions about Christmas television broadcasting of full-format stations in the period from 23rd to 26th December in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the history and present of Christmas celebrations in the territory of the Czech Republic. It shows the differences which have arisen over time, between how Christmas was celebrated before and which of our traditions persist till today. Furthermore, the work offers basic information about rituals, production of the program scheme and broadcasting in general. The theoretical part also includes short subchapters on the history of television broadcasting in our territory and the regulation of television broadcasting. In addition to hypotheses and researched questions, the analytical part also comes with the characteristics of the researched sample, specifically with a short history of individual full-format stations. The analysis provides a description of individual television programs on all of the above-mentioned days, which usually took place from 6 am to 10 pm. For comparison, there are included in the analysis both commercial (Prima, Nova) and public (ČT1, ČT2) program offer. The thesis deals with the live half-time and post-game interviews immediately after the end of the match. The first chapter represents sport's interaction with the media, brings closer current trends in sports journalism with a particular regards towards a commercionalisation of athletes. The second chapter focuses on half-time and post-game interviews. It introduces a specific type of interviews, offers theoretical perspectives on the organisation of interviews from preparition and condictions that are part of a pursuit of a profession in a football enviroment. In the following chapters, the work, based on questioning, brings the opinions and thoughts of the concerned sides with particular emphasis on the position of reporter, football player and press agent. The aim of the work is primarily to reveal the differences and specifics of half-time and post-match interviews in football to their general understanding. It primarily observes the working conditions, organisation and communication of interested people, as well as the environment in which the interviews take place.

ARTE - Analysis from the perspective of corporate structure and model portability to the CEE region

ARTE TV station is a unique project in the area of European audiovisual landscape, in many perspectives, and reflects its basis in many ways. It is an important player in the area of international co-productions, it is a hallmark of European arthouse cinema in the best sense of the word and its participation in audiovisual productions is available also for Czech producers. Therefore I would like to focus and analyse on the ARTE phenomenon, especially on the corporate and functional structure, business model and from historical and political view, followed by a producer's perspective (ARTE participation in co-productions) and end in an essay on the possibilities of transferring the ARTE model into the area of Central/Eastern Europe.
Comparison of selected two competing television stations broadcasting from the 21st century, according to content focus and structure audience

The aim of the thesis is the comparison of two selected private television channels TV Barrandov and Prima Cool primarily according to content focus and audience structure and secondarily from the point of view of media discourse and speech acts. In the first theoretical part I define fundamental concepts such as television, digitization, audience, program schedule, target group, television viewership, media discourse and speech act. Further I characterize both television channels, define their program schedule, audience and present the results of rating. In the second practical part I use to compare program schedule a method of quantitative content analysis, which aims to compare the programming schedule of both television channels, define the differences in the structure of the program and answer research questions, which stands at its beginning. To comparison audience I use the questionnaire method. At the beginning of the method is determined by research sample and subsequently the method is applied. Results of the survey will allow an extensive description of the audiences of both television channels, determine which channel is more attractive and confirm if the results of the questionnaire method correspond with publicly available results of audience or are diametrical difference. The author of this thesis is dealing with danish TV system. He is focusing on it´s historical developement, structure, regulation, way of financing and on it´s most important players. He analyses the literature works of danish professional authors and primary sources, like websites and presentations of included institutions. The author creates current and broad picture of danish TV in 2016, of it´s mechanisms and elements. Then, he compares his findings with system of czech TV´s, which may seem same functional as danish from an external point of view , but it´s nation and international succeeds are imcomparable.

This thesis on the "Establishing of a TV station in the digital era" describes and evaluates the influence of digital technologies and changing viewer behavior on television industry. It analyzes the Czech TV market regarding television operators, distribution technologies, the development of viewing shares and ad revenues and developing trends. The aim of this thesis is to show the status quo of the Czech TV market and to examine opportunities for the establishing of new television stations. Chapters of the first part focus on the current state of the Czech television market, main operators of TV stations, legislative, distribution platforms, assessment of ad revenues and the evaluation of research results. The second part of this thesis focuses on a case study on the establishment of a TV station.
